CCB Announces New Saturday Training Series Featuring Mary Kay O’Sullivan

Wallingford, CT Beginning in April 2011, the CCB will launch a new Saturday Training Series (STS) that will feature affordable full-day workshops on various topics of interests for those seeking to become or already credentialed. The workshops will be held on Saturdays in Spring & Summer 2011 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm beginning in late April 2011 at the CCB office in Wallingford. Although the workshops will be specially designed for those preparing for certification, registration will be open also to anyone interested. The STS program will feature several training sessions presented by Mary Kay O’Sullivan on various addiction & co- occurring-specific topics and will also include sessions on ethics, medication assisted treatment and other topics on interest. In support of the CCB and the STS program participants, Mary Kay O’Sullivan and other trainers have generously offered to volunteer their time which will make the events very affordable ($35.00 or less).

The STS program was developed based upon feedback from numerous individuals seeking to become or already certified with the CCB to ensure the program meets the needs and interests of working professionals. Although the events will likely interest many behavioral health professionals, the STS program was designed specifically to assist candidates preparing for initial certification. The STS topics selected and the learning objectives for each workshop are designed specifically to assist candidates build knowledge in key performance domains and to assist candidates to prepare for standardized exams. The STS program is highly recommended for professionals interested in an intensive learning experience similar to college, but want a more flexible and inexpensive educational option. Due to limited seating capacity, register early as many of the workshops will fill quickly. Discounted packages for CCB credentialed professionals (CITs receive a special discount) and multiple event discount packages will be available for a limited time.
