CCB to Begin Offering Computer-Based Testing
June 15, 2010
Wallingford, CT - The CCB will begin offering computer-based testing (CBT) as an option for all CCB exams in September, 2010. The new CBT options to be offered will include all IC&RC exams (CAC, CCS, CPP and CCDP/CCDP-D) as well as the CCB MATS - Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist exam. The eligibility requirements for testing will remain the same. However, candidates will now have the option of taking IC&RC exams either by paper & pencil administration at the CCB offices or they will be able to elect to schedule a CBT session at one of the approved testing locations in Connecticut and beyond. The CCB MATS exam will be available only as a CBT option and offered on a continual basis for all eligible candidates.
Computer-based testing has several advantages:
-
? Immediate preliminary feedback on test results (Pass or Fail)
-
? Increased flexibility and scheduling of exams
-
? Multiple testing locations
-
? Private and secure exam setting
Only authorized candidates are eligible to test in Connecticut and typically include individuals that are:
-
In the process of getting certified. Once an individual meets all of the requirements of a credential, they are notified in writing and are invited to test.
-
Out of state candidates or those authorized to test by Department of Public Health, the IC&RC or other organizations.
-
Actively registered CITs (CIT - Counselor in Training)
