CCJP Grandparenting Period Begins

Monday, November 30, 2015

As previously noted, the period for qualified candidates to apply for grandparenting
into the Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) credential begins on December 1, 2015
and goes through February 29, 2016. As of November 30, 2015, the required application is
available through the CCB website. The process of grandparenting simply means that those who
meet all of the identified standards are exempt from the IC&RC computer based CCJP exam
during the assigned period. Grandparenting is open to any candidate, regardless if they
currently hold a CCB credential or not. Individuals currently holding an active Certified
Addiction Counselor (CAC) credential have to meet standards that are adjusted to include some
of the competencies they have previously verified, while new candidates need to meet all
identified standards. Credential fees are also adjusted professionals with an active CAC credential.
All standards can be found in the application materials on the CCB website.
