New Credentialing Opportunity
Tuesday, November 10, 2015
The CCB has recently been approved to offer the IC&RC reciprocal credential, the Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) to members of our workforce who meet the required competencies. The credential is offered in 28 states by their respective boards and is endorsed by the International Community Corrections Association (ICCA), who have publicly stated that “well-trained Criminal Justice Counselors provide the optimal opportunity for successful prevention, intervention andtreatment of substance use disorders and related problems.”
We will have a 90 day grandparenting period from December 1, 2015 through February 28, 2016, during which qualified candidates who can document that they meet all of the standards can earn the credential without having to pass the exam. During this time, professionals currently holding the CAC can complete the grandparenting process with reduced educational requirements because of the extensiveness of the training, supervision and experience they have attained.
